Calcite


Calcite is the most common form of natural calcium carbonate having same chemical formula but different crystal structure. It represents combinations of over 1000 crystals forms and numerous habits. It is colorless or white in its pure form but it may be of any color which represents the presence of diverse impurities. It is a hard material and ranks at number 3 on the Mohs hardness scale.

It is used as a raw material for the manufacturing of lime, slaked lime, cements and mortars. It is used as impurity remover for the smelting of iron and steel. In some regions and cultures it is used to amplify and cleanse the internal or spiritual energy. It is also thought to absorb and transform the negative energy, calms the mind and enhances mental clarity.
